Event description
This program filled with romance and resonance includes three 19th-century sonatas – from Beethoven’s remarkable and “wayward” 4th, to newly-revenant composer Amanda Maier’s beautiful work, and the mighty Franck Sonata. In celebration of their 25 years as Duo Concertante, they have commissioned prizewinning Mexican-Canadian composer Luis Ramierez to write a new work for them, adding to their canon of almost 70 original commissions for violin and piano.
