SHiBARi 102: Decorative Rope Harnesses

Learning & Workshops

Event description

Rope 102: decorative harnesses is a fun and interactive class where we’ll learn how to tie some approachable patterns that you can use to spice things up at home or to really make an outfit pop. We’ll be covering beginner-friendly versions of the pentagram chest harness and the “Hishi Karada,” sometimes called a rope dress. These classic shibari looks are great for models, photographers, and performance artists to incorporate into their craft. Both ties are non-restrictive, so they can safely be worn as a fashion accessory or to provide a bit of stimulating constriction, but they are easy to modify or combine with other ties (such as our single column) for more practical uses. The patterns we’ll be learning are easiest to tie on a partner, however both can be tied on one’s own body so individual students are welcome to attend. This is a level two class, we are keeping it open to all students but we highly recommend that you take a rope 101 or introductory level class before this one to make sure you understand the risks of rope play, safety measures, and have an idea of how to tie a non-collapsing single column. ------------------------------------------- :::: Tickets $30 [ 57 spaces left ] Hosted by Motevotion / Taylor Southin ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- **LGBTQ2S+ FRiENDLY WORKSHOP SPACE FOR ANY AGE OR BODY TYPE (19+) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hosted @ little fernwood gallery - 1923 Fernwood Road, Victoria BC 3:30-5:30PM - Saturday, February 1st <3
