Music of the Spheres
Enchanting songstress Miranda Sage celebrates the release of her seventh album, Music of the Spheres, featuring exceptional new arrangements by Officer of the Order of Canada and Juno-winning multi-instrumentalist, Don Thompson. The show turns up the heat on passion, making the performance of this stunning collection of love songs, a hot date night out with your loved one this March. Alongside classic vocal jazz, you will hear Miranda and Don’s songwriting collaborations on new melodic standards with thought-provoking lyrics. Miranda’s sultry-toned expressive voice, brimming with life-experience and emotional depth, brings a rare authenticity to each lyric, captivating audiences. Her recordings are widely respected by critics, not only in Canada, but around the world. The album has enjoyed airplay on national CBC Saturday Night Jazz and respected stations in Europe.
The project’s sophisticated arrangements will be brought to life at Hermann’s Jazz Club, by Miranda’s quintet featuring Member of the Order of Canada and multiple-Juno-winning jazz saxophonist, Phil Dwyer. Virtuosic Victoria/Toronto-based pianist, Attila Fias will perform alongside tasteful Qualicum bassist, Ken Lister. Toronto’s wonderful Richard Brisco is on the drums.
