Doors @ 7 pm, $10 ------------------------- BIOS: Sweatpant Superstars We like to rap and have fun. Our first memories of rapping at Lucky Bar are old enough to vote and have kids of their own by now. These magic sweatpants of ours have journeyed across the vast plains of eternity and have recently returned home to ride anew. Come celebrate the rebirth of comfort, the return of the empire of elastic waistbands, and the voice of leisure wear enthusiasts the world over. We are still pretty sure that this whole internet thing is just a fad, so we didn’t sign up for any of these newfangled social medias until today. Bobby Arson I'm a rapper/DJ from the western edge of Canada. 1 of the 4 founders of the Outright Cypher, a weekly freestyle jumpoff that ran for 13 years in the heart of Victoria B.C. I have a habit of leaving everything on the stage. I have been lucky enough to spit with some of the best hip-hop artists in the world. I can still rap the periodic table of elements, and I'm just here to make music and have fun. I wrote my own Bio. I know these are usually not in the first person point of view, but feel like pretending someone else did it is hacky AF. I'm still trying to get my vocabulary up to an Aesop Rock level, but I know I never will. I'm also still trying to not sound like slug in 03, but again, I know I never will. BRAINiac BRAINiac, a product of Vernon, BC, and a '90s baby deeply influenced by Hip- Hop's golden era, found his musical calling at W.L. Seaton. Immersed in jazz studies and inspired by classic acts like Nas and Mobb Deep, he evolved his sound with modern influences like Earl Sweatshirt, Joey Bada$$, Mac Miller and Action Bronson. BRAINiac's fusion of old-school authenticity with contemporary innovation defines his quest to curate a fresh sound in Hip- Hop, reflecting his diverse musical ourney. Liquidjane After spending her 20’s cultivating her style in Victoria’s jam and cypher communities, and performing as a vocalist/ emcee in live bands The Spliff Personalities and The Miles Skye Club, Skye Allen created liquidjane in 2020 to further explore her love of electronic and sample-based music, particularly 90s- early 2000s R&B and hip hop. As a passionate music lover and collector, her influences span a wide array of genres, lending to a dynamic and unique sound. In summer of 2024, liquidjane released her debut project Light Matter- a collaborative effort with producer/ beatmaker Miles Lewis, featuring bandmates and other local musicians.
