Our sixth installment of the ultimate sober rave. Do you love the joy of the dance floor but want a clean and sober vibe? Then THIS party is for YOU! WHAT is it? Bumping beats! Let's gather together, booze and drug free, and dance our butts off. WHO is hosting? Recovery House is a team of people with new and long term recovery and we want to celebrate the Joy of Living.....with YOU! All folks from all fellowships are invited to attend. Or maybe you are just "sober curious", or enjoy the vibrations of substance free partying. This dance party is for all of us! WHY? We believe in combining the joy of dance with the purpose of living in recovery. We want to live our best lives, and help others do that too. We want to have a hugely visible presence of FUN, JOYFUL, MEANINGFUL life after active addiction. WHY an OTHERWORLD fundraiser? Last year we created a safe, sane and sober Theme Camp at Otherworld in June. We are gonna do it again! To pull this off we need to raise money to create the space that we all want to chill in. Spreading the message of "fun in recovery" has long been a mission of our organizers and this mission is taking it to the NEXT LEVEL. We know we can accomplish two things: one, create a safe and supportive space at otherworld to offer fellowship and recovery to all who want it and two, have a hugely visible presence of FUN, JOYFUL, MEANINGFUL life after active addiction. Join Recovery House as we party substance free to the talents of: 7-745 Trailer Swift brings the house to make you bounce! 745-830 Billiam Billiam has been mixing it up on the ones and twos for over 20 years. His love of all thing house is clearly evident by his immaculate track selection blending old with new, some classic sounds with grimey groovy basslines and beautiful female vocals. He is sure to entertain the house head within us all. 830-930 Formidable Throwdown “Formidable Throwdown” is a blend of the best Tech-Soul house music that caters to the dancefloor connoisseur. The official DJ of Victronic TV in Victoria, UK born James Green, AKA “Agent MC” began mixing house in 1998 after being immersed in the Detroit Electronic Music Scene. Today he’s the host of “Victronic TV” a web based content platform focusing on Victoria Electronic Music happenings in our community. His company “Live Event Sound Systems” will be providing sound for this event. 930-1030 Lucy Ford Lucy Ford has been mixing dance music for 2 decades. Getting her start in the Toronto scene, she has circulated between university radio stations and dimly-lit rave spaces, blending house, drum and bass, breaks, UK garage, halftime d&b and UK funky beats, most recently experimenting with live flute accompaniment. Over the past 10 years, she has been featured on west coast stages including those hosted by her company Footwork Entertainment in Victoria, BC.
