Trans Day of Snack 🌈 Join Fernwood Neighbourhood House and Oaklands Community Centre for a celebration of love, joy, and snacks! 📅 When: Monday, March 31, 3pm-5:30pm 📍 Where: Fernwood Neighbourhood House, 1240 Gladstone Ave ✨ Who’s Invited? This event is created by trans people, for trans people. We welcome trans folks in Fernwood & Oaklands to drop by and enjoy free snacks! Trans staff from all neighbourhood houses are also invited. 🍪 Snacks: Vegan & gluten-free options available! Mostly sweet treats & fruit. 📧 Questions? Email Aaren - aaren@fernwoodnrg.ca 💜 About Trans Day of Snack This day is all about trans joy, care, and nourishment. First mentioned on Gender Reveal (Tuck Woodstock, 2021), it offers a lighthearted contrast to other trans observances. While Trans Day of Remembrance (TDOR) honours those we've lost and Trans Day of Visibility (TDOV) focuses on awareness, Trans Day of Snack is about comfort, indulgence, and self-care—because trans people deserve happiness, too. There’s no wrong way to celebrate—treat yourself, share food with friends, or support trans-owned businesses. Most importantly, it’s a day to affirm that trans people deserve good snacks and good company. Land Acknowledgment Fernwood Neighbourhood House is on the homelands of the Lekwungen-speaking peoples, now known as the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations. We recognize Two-Spirit, trans, and gender-diverse Indigenous peoples, whose identities existed long before colonization. Colonial systems continue to harm both Indigenous and trans communities, but Two-Spirit and trans Indigenous people remain leaders in movements for sovereignty, justice, and care. 💖 Come celebrate with us! Because trans joy is resistance, and snacks make everything better. 🍩✨
