Event description
You’ve heard of pub crawls and bar crawls... but have you ever heard of a refillery crawl? 💠The UVSP is excited to kick-off 2025 with a trip around town visiting local refill stores! Are you curious about how to cut back on plastic waste in your daily life? How businesses—which rely on consumption to exist—can find their roots in sustainability and economic circularity? Where our local refilleries are and how to use them? This event could be for you!
On Saturday, January 18th, from 9:45am-1:30pm, the UVSP will be crawling across the city (by bus 🚌) to the Zero Waste Emporium, ASH Refillery, and the Victoria Soap Exchange to learn more about them and the roles they play in our community. We will start our day by meeting at the SUB, first traveling to the Victoria Soap Exchange in the Hillside-Quadra area, followed by the Zero Waste Emporium downtown, and ending at ASH Refillery in the Cook St Village. At each location, our group will receive a tour of the business and then be given some time to shop (we may have to take turns/alternate groups at each location as most of them are quite small).
This event is completely free to attend, but participants will want to bring their bus passes, a water bottle, and a lunch. Participants may also want to bring some empty jars/containers to buy products at the different refilleries.
Visit the link in our bio to sign-up! Once you sign-up, an email confirming your registration will be sent to you. A reminder email about the event will be sent on the morning of Friday, January 17th. Please note, due to the limited spatial capacity of the businesses we are visiting, there are only 12 spots available for this event—sign-up quickly!
Questions? Send us a DM! See you at the crawl! đź‘‹
