Event description

Welcome to the Eco-Stitch Society, where creativity meets sustainability in every stitch! Do you want the community and support of a guild, but you aren't a quilter? Though quilters are also welcome! Our club is building a community of makers passionate about upcycling and sustainable sewing practices. Whether you're a seasoned seamstress or just starting out, Eco-Stitch Society offers a supportive space to share ideas, techniques, and inspiration. From transforming thrifted garments into stylish new pieces to repurposing fabric scraps into beautiful quilts and accessories, to zero-waste patterns and more, our meetings are filled with innovative projects and eco-conscious crafting tips. Join us as we stitch together a greener, more sustainable future, one repurposed thread at a time! These social meetings will be the second Tuesday of each month and will comprise of: Short presentation or workshop on topic - see topic schedule below Topic discussion Announcements that any members would like to share of relevant events or news Show & Share - Bring your finished makes related to the topic, or not related to the topic at all! Stitch, laugh, drink tea, eat snacks Projects you would like advice on from your fellow Society Members Hand-sewing project you can work on during and/or after the program. Program may or may not include hands-on activity. Bring: Projects to work on Finished projects to show off Snacks to share Insight and info pertaining to topic Ideas for a demo you would like to offer for future Eco-Stitch meet-ups

Whether you're new to Victoria or a seasoned veteran, Cohorts are a great way to meet new people and build a community of likeminded people. Applicants are grouped together based on shared interests, then participate in three months of planned events together.
